Hike and bike in the Swiss Italian Alps of Ticino, Switzerland. Professional guides will take you on a journey of discovery of this unique region, rich in history, tradition, culture and exceptional natural beauty. Characteristic villages, grazing summer pastures filled with wildflowers, including the elusive edelweiss, and splendid alpine lakes are only a few of the marvellous aspects you will encounter along the way. Crown your first day with a restful night under a million stars, in a comfortable, ecological mountain hotel.
We start with a day on an electrical bike and pedal from lower elevations to the Lucomagno Pass. Along the way, we visit the ancient remains of the Castle of Serravalle, which, from ancient times and during the medieval period, guaranteed the defence of a strategic commercial route across the Alps. We stop to visit a cheese producer and enjoy a tasting of some of their products. On the second day, we abandon the e-bikes and hike over the mountains, on a spectacular, panoramic trail, to a mesmerizing area dotted by alpine lakes, filled with wildflowers and active marmots. After a delicious and typical lunch at a mountain hut, we descend to lower elevations by one of steepest funicular railways in the world.
