This exclusive program takes us on an unusual discovery of the Dolomites (Dolomiti for Italians). This pristine alpine playground, located between the Austrian border to the north and the Venetian plain to the south, is regarded as a hiking paradise, where a myriad of trails offer countless excursion possibilities and lush green meadows create a stark contrast against limestone peaks. But, the Italian Dolomites are also more than just hiking: they are culturally diverse and they are home to unique traditions and customs typical of Trentino Alto Adige. With the perfect combination of physical and cultural activities, we delve into their diversity and discover a facet of this paradise that is rarely explored. A cooking class at a traditional farmhouse introduces us to the Ladin cuisine of Alta Badia. This is “poor” cuisine, made with simple ingredients and products that can grow at higher elevations, such as potatoes, spinach and fava beans. A two-day course will teach us the ancient technique of making wool shoes. An introductory rock climbing lesson explains why the Dolomites are a famous destination among climbers. We enjoy a demonstration of cheese-making and a day of horse-back riding. And, of course, hiking excursions lead us to panoramic vistas with open views on these spectacular mountains.

Transfer on your own to Alta Badia and meet the guide. Panoramic hikes take us to Santa Croce Sanctuary, dating back to the 11th century, and through the San Cassiano surroundings. Invigorating morning hikes to rifugios, welcoming and intimate mountain huts at higher elevations where one can stop for a warm or cool drink.
